12:12 SONG COLLECTION & CONCERT
THE CONCERT
My name is Aaron Earl Short and I’m a singer songwriter now based out of Minneapolis.
I have developed a project called the 12:12 Recovery Song Collection and Concert. It is a performance of original songs written before and during my 15 years of recovery.
For this concert in support of sobriety, I brought 12 songs together that align with the 12 steps of recovery.
The 12th and final step is Service. Service is to find purpose outside of myself, and that’s what I’ve been striving for. Which I take to mean, get these tunes out to the people who may need to hear them.
I’ve written a lot of songs about my personal struggles with alcohol…and poverty. I put my honest, deepest and darkest thoughts on the matter into these songs. I’ve realized the importance of honest writing and how healing it is to relate to someone else’s unique story by telling my own.
I want to encourage others to write and explore their own stories so we can support and relate to one another.
The 12:12 Recovery Song Collection and Concert is a two hour solo acoustic performance of honest, emotional songs and humorous story telling. This show is welcoming to all. It is available for a range of financial abilities. As someone in recovery, I would like to give people relatable live music in safe feeling spaces.
